Anonymous asked: What's with the ranting reblogs about cops? Some cops ARE assholes that abuse their authority, there's really no disputing that, but there are always cops I've met that are very light hearted and just don't wanna see the person fall down the wrong path.

The post on here make it seem as though the police officers that are jerks are the majority, while kind, decent officers are the minority, which is not the case. Officers have to be tough and stern in order to enforce the laws, because if they didn’t we’d fall into chaos. They do a thankless job, get very little pay for what they do, and all their good deeds are overshadowed by the choices of a few rotten apples. They put their lives on the line everyday and how are they thanked? Morons on Tumblr posting pictures of people flipping off officers and being completely and utter disrespectful.

My grandfather was a police officer who received the gold medal of valor and was killed then killed two years later in the line of duty when my father was only two because some jackwagon wouldn’t pull his car over and get out of the way when he was responding to an domestic disturbance call. My grandmother had to work two crappy jobs to put food on the table for the six kids she was left with, four of whom barely remember their father. He sacrificed his life to keep people safe, so I get a little hot under the collar when people make comments like the ones I’ve been reading.
